When our AC technician arrives at your home or place of business, he starts the onsite initial service call to troubleshoot the problem and isolate the trouble to a particular component or assembly. He will do a complete set of checks and diagnostics to discover the root cause of the problem. The $89 fee for the Onsite Initial Service Call is free when we implement the repairs, whether repair entails the replacement of a simple capacitor or an AC compressor replacement.

Here’s a real-life example of our Customer Focus Approach. During the AC system diagnostics, our technician detects a small refrigerant leak. The first solution discussed is trying an inexpensive additive as a workaround to stop the leak. This workaround has a 30%-40% chance of working.
If the workaround fails to seal the hole(s), the next step is to decide on whether to replace the evaporator or replace the AC System. The best solution will depend on the price difference, immediate benefits, and expected future failures. The question to answer is, “Is it worth it to replace the evaporator or to buy a new AC system?” If the price difference is $2,500 and the old air conditioner needs a new compressor within the year, the obvious easy choice is a new energy-efficient AC System. A new system will save you money on AC repair costs and electric bills. However, if the current AC System is only a few years old and most likely covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, the AC evaporator replacement solution is the best way to go from the start, with the least amount of out-of-pocket cost to you.

Please note, a charge for an onsite service call is a standard practice in the AC Industry to recover travel time and minimal cost-recovery for work- efforts to troubleshoot the problem. Respectable AC companies waive the initial service call cost if they do the repairs. But, beware of some of Tampa Bay’s AC companies will charge for this service call in addition to the AC repairs.

Our AC Repair Service will replace the defective components with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for better durability to last longer. Frosty’s technicians install OEM parts by manufacturer’s guidelines and specifications. We follow ACCA’s ANSI-approved quality standards for AC repair services. Present the Final Bill
